About the event
This is a fun, engaging program which contains critical information; in addition to shining light on the incredible career opportunities in the growing sector of cybersecurity. Curriculum development to strengthen the fundamental understanding of the depth of being safe online, including the essential topic of building resilient emotional firewalls. The curriculum will give youth the skills to understand the levels of the internet; the darkweb/deepweb, the importance of their digital footprint; acknowledging using the internet creates a "digital trail" of their experience online. Next, will encompass the standards set out under NIST the guidelines of password creation and understanding the importance of frequently changing passwords and the use of MFA together to secure accounts. Lastly; the youth will be able to decipher between legitimate digital communication, and scams aimed at users. Target age group is youth age 13-17 (middle & high school). Special guest speakers engage weekly to share their experiences and inspire youth.
